YOUR MISSION:

As an engineer, you’ll take on meaningful challenges — from distributed systems to low-latency pipelines — and help solve problems the industry hasn’t cracked yet. As a Backend Engineer (f/m/d)* on the Conversational Platform, you will enable human-like conversations on any channel with low latency and high extensibility. You haven't worked with our stack? That's fine! We would love to get in touch as long as you are open to learn and code in Typescript.

Parloa has an office-first approach. Our team is usually in the office 2-3 days a week.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

• Design, build, and maintain secure and scalable backend services
• Optimize system performance for low latency, high throughput, and reliability
• Collaborate across teams to integrate machine learning components into production systems
• Lead technical initiatives - design, planning, implementation, and maintenance (3-9 months horizon)
• Drive initiatives to improve operational excellence
• Contribute to the evolution of our architecture and engineering culture

Our Tech stack:

Python, Typescript, NodeJS, OpenAI, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, MongoDB, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, NATS, RxJS

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Willingness to learn and code in Typescript
• Experience with developing and maintaining highly scalable and reliable microservices
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and APIs
• Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (e.g., Kubernetes, GCP/AWS)
• A bias for action, strong ownership, and a passion for clean, pragmatic code
• Experience in leading technical projects (3-9 months horizon)
• Strong spoken and written communication skills in English
• Curiosity and openness to work with AI-assisted coding tools
