This position is responsible for inspection and verification of the direct materials used in the manufacturing process to ensure the materials received from suppliers meet Micron’s specifications and requirements. The verification process includes lot sampling and accurate inspection of material received from suppliers, maintaining inspection plans, records, procedures in compliance with the company’s Quality Management System and any applicable ISO standards. The position will also be responsible for interacting with procurement, engineering, facilities and production staff members to determine the cause and disposition of non-conforming materials.

Responsibilities

  • Build effective relationships with local and global stakeholders including IQC, Procurement, Process and Equipment Engineering, Process Integration, Supplier Quality Engineering, Material Technology Engineering, etc.
  • Drive the development, alignment, and execution of long-range strategies which enable Micron teams to meet future technology requirements; support ICQ systems by developing key metrics, support quality systems strategic direction and continuous improvement projects.
  • Monitor and control incoming material quality to ensure no adverse impact to processes and product; develop incoming inspection procedures and testing methods for raw materials.
  • Collaborate closely with process areas and process integration teams to resolve complex contamination issues and prevent future occurrences.
  • Partner with engineering teams to assess and manage risks associated with qualifying new materials or new material sources.
  • Lead Material Review Board (MRB) to determine non-conforming material disposition and record and publish inspection results based on vendor Certificates of Analysis (take immediate action to contain impact of non-conforming material).
  • Coordinate with purchasing personnel to obtain supplier RMA for MRB disposition of product and review and approve Supplier Organizational Change notifications and Chemical Requests.
  • Evaluate supplier performance to ensure the supplier meets all requirements and perform data analysis on vendor supplied data to establish, maintain and update statistical process control charts according to Micron’s SPC practice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years’ working experience, with at least 3+ years of experience from an international complex organization with revenue greater than $1 billion dollars
  • Flexibility to work across global time zones
  • Fluent in oral and written English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Material Science
  • 1+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • 2+ years of experience working with SAP systems
  • 2+ years of experience with project management
