Job Summary

Under general supervision, perform cashier functions for the Denver Health's Main Street Gift Shop including collecting cash, credit card receipts and other of payment and balancing cash register daily. Prepare and sell snacks, beverages, gifts and other items as offered. Provide exceptional customer service and general cleaning and stocking.

Essential Functions:

• Receives cash and credit cards via form of payment from customers. Assures proper procedure for securing all monies into safe for proper verification. (40%)
• Ensure cash is safeguarded and appropriately accounted for at all times. Cash drawers should be in a safe locked place at all times when not in cash register. Ensure cash drawer amount is maintained at the established limit at all times and should be counted and verified daily as part of balancing procedures. The safe should remain closed and locked when not in use. (10%)
• Verifies that sales information in the reports are accurate, complete, prepared timely. (5%)
• Verifies that all monies are in balance at the end of each business day. (5%)
• Stock all items throughout the day as needed. (10%)
• Keep work area clean and picked up (5%)
• Customer Service on a continual basis (15%)
• Record temperatures at opening and closing on refrigeration and freezer units. Take appropriate action if out of compliance. (5%)
• Record in daily book any item that is low or out of stock (5%)

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required

Work Experience:

• 1-3 years related customer service and cash handling required

Licenses:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities at one time.
• Able to perform repetitive hand and wrist movement.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Ability to demonstrate professional work behavior by following guidelines as established by policies and procedures.

Schedule (may change based on department needs):

• Thursday: 10:00am - 7:15pm
• Friday: 10:00am - 7:15pm
• Saturday: 11:00am - 4:15pm
