We encourage innovation and expect developers to take a high level of ownership throughout the software life cycle.

You'll play a key role in supporting our applications, ensuring they meet engineering and security standards. You’ll own projects from scoping to deployment, troubleshoot issues proactively, and deliver scalable solutions.

Standout candidates will be comfortable working with Golang, Kubernetes, Terraform, Dynamo DB, REST API and have experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). You value clean, maintainable code and are passionate about automation and continuous improvement.

This role is offered as Hybrid in Seattle, WA. Candidates must be available to work in the office at the Nordstrom corporate headquarters for a minimum of 3 days/week to be considered for this position.

  • Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth transitions from development to deployment.

  • Participate in planning, analysis and definition of high-level software strategies and solutions through functional knowledge and an understanding of the enterprise business systems and industry.
  • Stay current with industry trends and apply modern technologies to improve architecture and performance.
  • Ensure corporate policies and industry best practices are observed and followed in developed applications.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems and ensure high availability.

You own this if you have...

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience and a baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.
  • Strong Golang and Kubernetes development experience and familiarity with Terraform, RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB).
  • Experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • A passion for automation, performance monitoring, and building responsive, accessible applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • A proactive attitude toward learning, mentoring, and challenging the status quo.
