Job Summary

The Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies is seeking a passionate and creative photography intern to join our dynamic marketing and communications team for the 2025-2026 academic year.

• Captures compelling visual content that tells the HLS story.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required

• Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

• 1 year of photography experience

SKILLS

Required

• Strong understanding of photography and photographic storytelling
• Proficiency using photography equipment
• Proficiency with photo editing software
• Ability to edit photos and upload them in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaboratively as part of a team
• Availability to attend HLS events during the week/weekend to capture photos of events
• Photography skills
• Photo editing skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to be prompt and on time for event photography opportunities
• Ability to capture, edit, and distribute photos in a timely fashion
• Ability to be a motivated self-starter!
• Possesses a strong eye for composition
• Proficiency with photography equipment
• Passion for visual storytelling
• Eagerness to contribute skills in a fast-paced academic environment
• Ability to work in a collaborative team dynamic

Preferred

• Ability to capture and edit video is a plus

Working Conditions / Demands

Fast-paced working environment

Ability to transport and set up photography equipment (cameras, tripods, lighting, etc.)

Work Location

This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work at Hamilton Lugar School), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.

Advertised Salary

$12 per hour

Work Hours

Approximately 10-15 hours a week

Flexible weekly schedule

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for event coverage or urgent content deadlines
