Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join a dynamic manufacturing team that specializes in producing street sweepers. This role requires the ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical systems on vehicles. The position involves working with custom orders, which can vary from straightforward to complex design changes.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret wiring diagrams.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems on vehicles.
• Collaborate with the team to design and develop electrical components.
• Perform wire harness design and documentation.
• Conduct on-vehicle testing, prototyping, and production support.
• Create harness drawings and schematics using Visio/SolidWorks Electrical.
• Convert older drawings to meet current standards.
• Develop new part files and assemblies using CAD systems.
• Implement electrical systems and related components for low voltage DC applications.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in electrical system design and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring and harness design.
• Familiarity with low voltage DC systems (12V, 24V).
• Ability to use diagnostic tools such as multi-meters and test lights.
• Experience in creating CAD files and assemblies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in designing and troubleshooting electrical components in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with heavy industrial equipment design or automotive industry.
• Familiarity with Codesys software and IFM hardware.
• Knowledge of ladder logic and function block programming.

Work Environment

The work environment involves both the engineering lab and the manufacturing floor. This is not a desk-only position; candidates will actively engage in taking measurements, observing machines, and collaborating with the manufacturing team. The engineering design lab fosters a highly collaborative and feedback-driven culture.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Will receive at time of offer - includes 401k, benefits, pto etc

This is a fully onsite position in Huntsville,AL.
