???? About the Role

At Orfium, we’re building the future of music rights and royalties through technology and data. As a Data Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will be the driving force behind the tools and infrastructure that empower every domain team across the company. Your work will enable dozens of engineers and analysts to build, deploy, and manage their data products with speed and confidence.

This is an opportunity to grow your platform engineering skills while working with a modern, self-service data stack including Snowflake, AWS Services, Airflow, DBT, Airbyte, IaC tools and many others. You will be at the center of our Data Mesh strategy, evolving our “foundational” platform services to a “true” data platform that makes our data-driven culture possible. You won't just build pipelines; you'll build the systems that build the pipelines.

If you are passionate about enabling others, solving complex systems-level problems, and building scalable, automated platforms, this is the perfect role for you.

Requirements

???? Responsibilities

  • Build & Maintain Platform Services: Support and enhance our self-service tools, including our Data Replication, Airflow orchestration, DBT execution services and many others within AWS or Snowflake that are being used from the internal domain teams.
  • Advance Data Governance: Empower domain teams by developing and monitoring usage dashboards metrics, improving technical documentation, and creating training materials that support our data governance capabilities.
  • Contribute to Platform Evolution: Help shape the data platform's future by implementing new capabilities like data observability, contributing to major architectural improvements, and researching new technologies.
  • Collaborate and Support: Work closely with domain-facing engineers and analysts to understand their needs, troubleshoot issues, and gather feedback to improve our platform offerings.
  • Participate actively in Data Chapter meetings and Agile Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives.
  • Bring your fresh ideas, technical excellence, and collaborative mindset to help us shape the future of data at Orfium.

???? Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a relevant technology field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in Data Engineering.
  • Strong skills in SQL and Python for data manipulation and pipeline development.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data warehousing platforms, ideally Snowflake (or Databricks, BigQuery, Redsift).
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices for deploying and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with major Cloud Infrastructure, preferably AWS, and its core services.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and operations.
  • Solid data problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset and a strong focus on building scalable, high-performance solutions.

⭐ Nice to Have

  • Prior experience working in an Agile environment and contributing to iterative delivery.
  • Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows, using tools like Airflow for orchestration and DBT for transformation and modeling.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Pulumi, Terraform)
  • Basic understanding of Docker and container orchestration concepts.
  • Exposure to data visualization and BI tools like Tableau, Metabase, or similar.
