What does a successful Event Manager do at Fiserv?
Creating memorable events is an art and a science. At Fiserv, it’s also a team sport. As part of our dynamic team, the Event Manager will have a unique opportunity to meaningfully contribute to delivering on the expectations for on-brand, targeted events as part of a high-energy team of professionals.
As an Event Manager, you will thrive in supporting and executing events across Fiserv by managing and reporting on event deliverables that support strategic and operational initiatives. In this highly collaborative role, you will manage multiple priorities and communicate at the executive level, as well as demonstrate problem-solving skills with limited oversight. You’ll have frequent interactions with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leaders, business unit partners and members of the sales, marketing and global events team, so great communication skills are a necessity. You will build productive relationships with internal stakeholders and interactions with external vendor partners.
What you will do:
- Partner with Global Events Leadership to understand event strategy and objectives, support operational planning and work as part of a cross functional team responsible for driving execution and tracking results against enterprise priorities for multiple client, sales, associate and leadership events.
- Develop and execute all logistical elements of an event or interactive experience - supervising, mentoring, and evaluating staff, vendor partners, and contractors.
- Manage overall event project plan - holding cross-functional planning team accountable to project milestones, tracking progress and escalating issues or delays as appropriate.
- Conduct event site research, provide recommendations based on cost, destination, logistics, and other factors and oversee venue contracting.
- Work with peers to manage deliverables across registration, creative, hospitality and production in accordance with project deadlines
- Oversee meeting space assignment, specs and room sets for breakout sessions, meetings and other program functions, serving as point of contact for hotels to ensure logistics are in place for audio/visual, food and beverage, security, staffing, and related event services.
- Lead and work in conjunction with assigned Event and Registration Managers to develop online registration website, registration process, room block management, and event reporting specific to each event.
- Assist in the development of event “briefing” to ensure comprehension of objectives and key metrics as well as post-even reconciliation, debrief and reporting
What you will need to have:
- 5+ years of experience implementing and executing all aspects of the planning process, logistics, and onsite execution for multiple high-touch, complex programs with varying numbers of attendees for in-person and virtual events, including working with production companies, vendors, venues, DMCs, and agencies to successfully implement all event needs and manage event A/V requirements, technology, F&B, logistics and production.
- Extensive experience managing hotel and event contracting
- Advanced experience in Microsoft 365
- Experience working with virtual event platforms such as Microsoft Teams, 6Connex, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing or Communications, or related discipline preferred.
What would be great to have:
- CMP or CEM designation
- Experience using project management software (such as Asana, Monday.com, Workfront, etc.)
