Aerotek is hiring a CNC Lathe Machinist!

Job Description

Set up and operate Okuma CNC lathes using Fanuc controls to produce precision components. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Load programs, make offsets, and perform minor edits to ensure optimal machine performance. Conduct in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools. Monitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical or control issues.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical or control issues.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of CNC lathe setup experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in blueprint reading.
  • Proficiency in using Fanuc controls for CNC operation.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.
  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience in a job shop or machine shop environment.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a non-climate-controlled machine shop, meaning temperatures can vary with the seasons. Comfort with working in changing conditions is important. The shop is active and can be noisy, with exposure to machinery, metal shavings, and coolant. Doors are opened in the summer to allow airflow.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00/hr.
