Sr Supplier Quality Engineer
Sr Supplier Quality Engineer for Honeywell International, Inc. (Phoenix, AZ)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work directly with suppliers to satisfy Honeywell's quality standards and strategy in the manufacture of components.
- Interact with all levels of supplier management.
- Serve as Honeywell's point of contact within the supply base, and support transition and supplier development activities within assigned geographical area.
- In support of a variety of supplier oversight functions, spend a majority of the time at supplier facilities.
- Evaluate prospective supplier Quality Systems.
- Proactively review supplier systems, assess operational gaps to identify risks and takes systematic actions to develop a world class supplier.
- Work directly with sourcing, business, engineering and our suppliers/customers on strategies to improve product quality and delivery.
- Evaluate procedures for compliance to contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier Quality metrics associated with supplier capability, trends and related production improvement effort.
- Evaluate supplier capability based on 6 Sigma methodologies.
- Train associates, suppliers, and contract personnel in Six Sigma techniques.
- Manufacturing Process Control, variation reduction, etc.
- Root cause corrective action on supplier quality notifications and escapes.
- Manage cost savings projects realized from quality improvements at suppliers.
- Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Have wide-ranging experience, use professional concepts and company objectives, internal and external contacts to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Provide technical insight to analyze risks and opportunities.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, and 6 years of supplier quality engineering experience. Full term of experience must include: large project management experience with cross-functional experience; Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience along with core tools (SPC, MSA and DOE); strategic sourcing or value engineering experience; ability to read and understand technical specs and drawings (GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standard); experience using Six Sigma techniques (DMAIC and RCCA); comprehensive knowledge of advanced Quality engineering practices with AS9100, ISO 9000, or IATF 16949; recognized authority in area of expertise and or products with wide versatility of experience and capability; and significant experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and quality assurance processes. Must have Green belt certification. Approximately 40% domestic and 10% international travel required. Telecommuting permitted up to two (2) times per week
