Flight Operations Division
The Flight Operations Division at Delta Air Lines, Inc. has a mission to operate the safest, most reliable, and efficient airline in the world, while exceeding customer expectations. We are a team of aviation professionals supporting 17,000+ pilots.
Flight Ops Technology Department
The department assists the entire Flight Operations Division through advancing technology applications and initiatives to drive the division’s mission. The team also evaluates current work processes to identify and recommend business opportunities. Finally, the team supports technology solutions that align with senior leadership’s strategy to continuously improve the line pilot experience.
The Project Development Office
Within the Flight Ops Technology department, the Co-Op team works within the Project Development Office (PDO) with two full-time employees. The purpose of the PDO is to create value by assisting Flight Ops stakeholders achieve business goals. We do this by helping them navigate the technology development process through the agile ecosystem, spanning from intake to approval to execution. Additionally, we provide consulting services that focus on cost savings and process improvements. Another responsibility for the PDO is Change Management, a framework in Flight Ops to enhance the visibility of change efforts, and to enable tracking and reporting. This position is a Business Analyst-type role which will focus on Internal Consulting, Technology Development, and Change Management.
Co-Op Job Summary
- The Co-Op will work at Delta's World Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a paid position, including additional privileges such as standby travel anywhere in the Delta system while off duty.
- The team currently operates on a hybrid schedule (i.e., in-person for 4 days on campus with one day each week working virtually).
- The Co-Op will have exposure to other departments within Flight Operations, including but not limited to: Flight Training, Flight Standards, Flying Operations, Line Operations, Crew Resources & Scheduling, Pilot Hiring & Development, and Simulator Support…to learn about Flight Operations, the industry and gain valuable life experience.
- The position requires three alternating semesters of full-time work at Delta with full-time study (1 semester will be summer).

Co-Op Job Responsibilities
- Actively participate in team activities that aim to holistically develop Co-Ops
- Partner with stakeholders in a Business Analyst type role
- Will partner with multiple divisional stakeholders to define process improvement opportunities, assist with development and maturation of recommended solutions
- Will define Change Management business/process improvement opportunities, assist with the development and maturation of recommended Change Management solutions, and implement Change Management initiative tracking methodologies
- Support Delta’s global innovation initiative through applications of creative design concepts to evolve stakeholder approaches to problem and solution design
- Develop and implement feedback analysis using basic survey and statistics methodologies
- Support project leaders on technology programs with external vendors and Information Technology teams to identify and troubleshoot issues, develop solutions, and implement resolutions in a timely manner to minimize impact to the operation
- Think, design, and create innovative solutions to support project teams in improving the pilot work experience
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Working as a Co-op does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational, and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce.
- This position requires you to work for 3 alternating semesters. You cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op at the same time, which may delay your graduation by 1-2 semesters.
- Rotations: Spring 2026, Fall 2026, Summer 2027
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration (Information Technology Management), Industrial Engineering, or similar degree with applicable skills
- Team player that fosters trust, open dialogue, and healthy conflict with coworkers
- Strong interpersonal skills and servant leadership required to promote intentional relationships
- Preferably a rising Sophomore or rising Junior, as you are required to work 3 terms
- Smartsheet and PowerBi experience preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills required
- Internally motivated, curious, ready to learn, and eager to make an impact
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and time constraints while being able to manage and prioritize multiple project requests conjointly
- Project Management experience is a plus (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Experience with business cases, process mapping, and database management is a plus
