Department Description:

As part of the Communications Global Industry Unit On-Premise Hardware Development Team, the applicant will be involved in developing the next generation of Oracle hardware underlying secure, efficient and highly scalable session oriented networks. These systems utilize cutting edge technology to deliver best in class performance, simplified management, and cost-saving efficiencies in both enterprise and communication service provider deployments.

Position Overview:

Our organization is looking for highly motivated, dedicated team members to drive hardware design & development for these products. Engineers will utilize a broad skillset to implement designs and participate in all phases of product development including:

  • Initial concept and platform architecture
  • Board level and system level mechanical design
  • Thermal design and simulation
  • Design for manufacturing/assembly/test
  • Interdepartmental Cooperation (Industrial Design, Operations, Service, Supply Chain, etc.)
  • Rapid prototyping, bring up and debug
  • Design Verification Testing
  • Troubleshooting and fault identification

Candidate Profile:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Engineering plus 5 - 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with chassis-based systems. Completed system designs of medium to high complexity with high quality.
  • Experience with mechanical design tools (SolidWorks, Creo)
  • Experience with thermal simulation tools (Flotherm)
  • Experience conducting and evaluating thermal test results

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic, electro-mechanical or mechanical components, assemblies or integrated circuitry for hardware systems for the external market. Includes new design, as well as modification activities that results in significant product enhancement. Activities encompass design, analysis, testing and process development using engineering principles and methods. Technical disciplines may include electrical and logical design of printed circuit boards or integrated circuits; mechanical design of electronics enclosures or integrated circuit packaging; and embedded software/firmware design.

Job Responsibilities:

Engineers on our team have broad opportunity to explore multiple areas of mechanical and power system design including:

  • Chassis design ranging from desktop appliances to multi-RU rackmount designs
  • Board and interconnect design and specification
  • System thermal design and heat sink specification for a wide range of components and requirements
  • Bezel and air management feature design
  • Power sub-system design and specification
  • Supplier engagement and selection

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $97,500 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
