Why does the job exist?

The Application Developer II / Fraud Capture Product Owner will bring technical background and experience to the FC solution used by the HCA's Office of Inspector General (OIG). This position will also work closely with the product owners of other applications in the HCA Enterprise.

The Application Developer II / Fraud Capture Product Owner will:

  • Under general supervision, code, test, debug, document and implement software applications;
  • Execute all programming tasks, including programming, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, modifying and maintaining computer programs;
  • Work on systems of moderate size and complexity or segments of larger systems.

The Application Developer II / Fraud Capture Product Owner is responsible for:

  • Integrating solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework;
  • Performing moderately complex assignments that may require the development of new or improved applications, processes or techniques;
  • Understanding client needs and technical requirements in order to determine and implement solutions;
  • Managing all aspects of the system/ product to include and not limited to installation, backup, data recovery, security, clustering, and establishing system utilization standards;
  • Mentoring lower-level application developers;
  • Conceptualizing design implementation and develop solutions for complex system/programs.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has:

  • Experience in collaborating with stakeholders and understanding requirements, particularly with fraud and abuse;
  • The ability to perform advanced technical analytical work related to large and complex information systems and business processes and translate the business needs into requirements, performance measures and process improvements.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in software programming. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.

Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal history background investigation and is conditional pending results.

Working Conditions

Office setting. Long periods of sitting and continuous use of monitor and keyboard. Stress due to deadlines and workload. Occasional overnight travel, work after hours, weekends and/or holidays may be required; Occasionally variable work schedule.
