The APAC Early Career team is a critical driver in advancing TikTok’s global talent strategy by connecting with top-tier university students. Our mission is to deliver exceptional, engaging experiences that showcase TikTok’s people, culture, and technology through high-impact events and programs. By cultivating relationships with universities, we aim to attract and recruit high-potential students who will contribute to TikTok’s growth and innovation.
Role Overview:
The APAC Early Career team is seeking a highly strategic and dynamic program manager to lead and support initiatives that build and strengthen TikTok's top tech talents hiring across the APAC. This role will play an integral part in shaping and executing recruiting strategies, creating high-value partnerships with universities, and driving top-of-funnel talent acquisition to fuel TikTok’s global pipeline.
You will work closely with the University Relations and Early Careers teAPAC to develop and execute strategies that increase TikTok’s visibility on campuses, foster meaningful connections, and ultimately drive the recruitment of the best early-career talent.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Needs Alignment & Strategy Execution
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand talent requirements across R&D directions (e.g., algorithm, AI, engineering) and define precise talent profiles.
- Develop and execute recruitment plans/strategies for top tech talents (including PhDs and early-career candidates) based on business goals, covering market insight reports, top lab outreach, and PhD-business team exchanges to enhance hiring efficiency and conversion rates.
- Lead cross-regional/cross-functional collaboration to drive strategy implementation, ensuring alignment with APAC, AMS, and EMEA market dynamics.
2. University & Lab Partnerships
- Manage strategic partnerships with top APAC universities, research labs, career centers, and faculty to build long-term talent pipelines.
- Drive outreach to student groups and academic networks to establish ByteDance as a preferred employer in tech talent communities.
- Support global-to-APAC talent recruitment by navigating regional policies (e.g., visa regulations, labor laws in SG, AU, SEA) and facilitating cross-border talent mobility.
3. Student Engagement & Event Management
- Organize and execute PhD and early-talent focused events (e.g., career fairs, info sessions, networking events, technical sharing sessions) to boost employer brand visibility in APAC, AMS, and EMEA.
- Coordinate on-site leadership for university engagements, including cross-regional events, to engage high-potential students and strengthen campus relationships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., R&D teams, HRBP) to design engaging content for student outreach, ensuring alignment with ByteDance’s technical innovation brand.
4. Data Analysis & Performance Tracking
- Monitor and report key metrics (e.g., outreach effectiveness, event participation, talent pipeline growth) to measure program impact and inform strategy optimization.
- Use data-driven insights to refine engagement approaches, such as improving event logistics, partnership priorities, or candidate targeting.
- Maintain accurate records of project outcomes and share best practices across global teams for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above;
- 2–5 years of experience in recruiting for R&D roles in Singapore, with deep familiarity with the local tech talent market (e.g., candidate pools, hiring trends, and skill demands);
- Proven track record in cross-team collaboration (e.g., working with R&D teams, HR functions, or business leaders) to align recruitment strategies with organizational needs;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in global/regional teams;
- Basic data literacy: comfortable tracking recruitment metrics and using insights to optimize processes;
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience across APAC/EMEA/AMS regions, successfully navigating cultural/operational nuances and leveraging regional labor laws (e.g., SG/AU/SEA visa regulations, internship compliance) to drive global talent acquisition;
- Track record delivering large-scale campus events (info sessions, networking, career fairs) with end-to-end logistics management, ensuring high engagement and brand impact.
