BACKGROUND:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. At work in over 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity and hope, the IRC leads the way from harm to home. The IRC in Richmond opened its doors in October 2015 to give refugee families the tools they need to take control over their new lives in the greater Richmond area, assisting them toward self-sufficiency, self-reliance, and community integration.
SCOPE OF DIGITAL NAVIGATOR INTERN WORK:
The Digital Navigator Intern will support clients in overcoming digital barriers by providing one-on-one assistance internet connectivity and device access, as well as group digital literacy classes. This role is essential in helping clients gain the digital skills and tools needed to access employment, education, healthcare, and other essential services. The intern will work closely with IRC staff, volunteers, and community partners to assess client needs, provide tailored digital support, and connect clients with appropriate resources. This position is ideal for someone passionate about digital equity, community empowerment, and cross-cultural engagement.
