AGCO is looking to hire candidates for the position of Software Engineer - GUI and Embedded Displays

We are looking for a Software Engineer – GUI & Embedded Displays to develop and maintain the advanced display terminals used by dealers and farmers worldwide. These terminals provide visual feedback, enable intuitive navigation through pages and menus, and allow seamless interaction with various machine systems and functions.

In this role, you will contribute to a common platform strategy that spans multiple brands, product sites, and vehicle types—delivering scalable, maintainable, and safety-critical embedded software solutions. You will work with embedded Linux platforms and Qt/QML-based graphical interfaces, integrating with CAN Bus communication protocols such as J1939 and UDS.

Your Impact

  • Develop and optimize embedded applications using structured/object-oriented C++ with Qt Framework, QML, and JavaScript on embedded Linux platforms, delivering scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software for display terminals.
  • Design and implement software for safety-critical control systems operating under real-time constraints, leveraging modern development environments such as GitHub and CloudBees to support continuous integration and delivery.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive module and unit tests to ensure software quality, robustness, and compliance with relevant safety and industry standards.
  • Integrate and interface with CAN Bus communication stacks, including J1939 and UDS protocols, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and maintain detailed documentation to support variant management and software certification.
  • Manage display output control, widget handling, and visualization to create intuitive and responsive graphical user interfaces that enhance operator experience across multiple products, brands, and vehicle types.

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in embedded software development focused on Terminal GUI or embedded display systems, with real-time or safety-critical platform exposure and familiarity with relevant safety standards.
  • Proven expertise in GUI development using Qt Framework, C++, QML, and JavaScript on embedded Linux platforms (e.g., Yocto, Ubuntu Core), including cross-compilation and debugging tools.
  • Proficient in Git version control (workflows, pull requests, branching), strong knowledge of embedded UI/UX design principles, and experience with usability testing or design collaboration tools.
  • Experience with CAN communication protocols and UDS, variant management, and collaboration in agile teams using CI/CD tools like Jenkins or or CloudBees
