Job Title: Machine Operator - Plastic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Machine Operator to join our team in the plastics department. This role requires a strong understanding of metal cutting machines, the ability to read schematics, and proficiency in the metric system. The ideal candidate will possess basic mechanical knowledge and computer skills, and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of molding machines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and troubleshoot molding machines efficiently.
  • Handle and manage materials effectively.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of equipment and tools.
  • Conduct quality inspections following IATF standards.
  • Report production activities accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production goals.
  • Escalate issues to engineers and supervisors as needed.
  • Adhere to internal quality procedures and safety rules.
  • Implement the First in – First out (FIFO) method.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.

Essential Skills

  • Good reading comprehension of work instructions.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in operating multiple machines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and schematics.
  • Knowledge of the metric system and math skills.
  • Familiarity with measurement devices and CMM.
  • Basic computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in plastic injection mold and extrusion operations.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Capability to push and pull up to 90 lbs. using material handling equipment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Occasional sitting, crawling, kneeling, and squatting.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean and climate-controlled. We offer shifts from Monday to Friday or Sunday to Thursday, with positions available for Machine Operators on the 2nd and 3rd shifts, and a Quality Inspector on the 3rd shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gainesville, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
