Energy and Power – Electrical Engineering Project Director; Gas Power Generation
The energy industry is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes, driven in part by the soaring demand for reliable generation capacity to meet the needs of new manufacturing facilities, artificial intelligence computing centers and other bulk power consumers. In response, Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to provide engineering design services for gas power generation projects across North America. We are seeking a project director with subject matter expertise in the electrical engineering design of large-scale transmission connected gas-fired simple cycle or combined cycle power plants for a leading role in our North American power generation practice. This position will provide an opportunity to lead electrical engineering teams in the planning and design of natural gas or dual fuel combustion turbine generation projects. As a senior team member and project director, you will be entrusted as the engineer in responsible charge of the electrical engineering designs for power generation plant projects. This role will include oversight of engineering design activities and production of deliverables by domestic and global staff members. You will also be empowered to mentor and/or manage less experienced electrical engineering staff members while also working closely with our clients to deliver exceptional services in the energy sector.
This opening provides the opportunity to engage with our clients as an owner’s engineer to develop concept-level plans and solutions or collaborate with a construction partner to produce detailed design documents and perform construction phase engineering services. Demonstrated abilities include a broad understanding of grid-connected gas power generation systems. Experience in EPC project delivery will be highly regarded, as will experience in Owner’s Engineer roles.
Your primary responsibilities will focus upon leading an electrical engineering team to produce deliverables for clients that include utilities, independent power producers and more. You’ll be expected to possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery.
With over 150 offices located across the United States and remote positions also available, this position offers exceptional geographic flexibility.
If you are passionate about developing reliable power generation projects, motivated by a challenge, and enjoy working with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to develop innovative solutions, Jacobs is the place for you. Come join our growing team!
We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.
