Currently we are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test for System Drives.

As a member of Research and Development (R&D) within Special Applications team based in Krakow you will be responsible for design, implementation and maintenance of a testing frameworks and build infrastructure of a complete embedded software platform.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with control experts in modularization and migration of software features. You will define the maintenance strategy and best practices for unique projects for high power medium voltage drives.

The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Ownership of platform testing framework for special applications with ABB Medium Voltage Drives portfolio, starting from concept, development and maintenance.
• Modularization and migration of software features to new platform with control experts.
• Definition and support of best-practices in maintenance of projects on the platform, including CI/CD infrastructure.
• Cooperation with stakeholders from local and global engineering and R&D teams in special applications projects.
• Hardware in the Loop simulations of power electronics converters.
• Preparation of software packages and technical documentation.
• Occasional international travel to our R&D center, production sites and customers.

Qualifications for the role:

• Master’s degree in field of Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics and Control Engineering, Automatics and Robotics or related field.
• Expert knowledge in testing framework development using Python, Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and CI/CD.
• Experienced in C++ development for embedded applications.
• Understanding of electrical circuit and control theory.
• Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink (Model Based Design) is nice to have.
• Good written and spoken English.
