The Office of Educator Preparation Program at the University of Tennessee at Martin is accepting applications for a Program Manager of Induction and Job Embedded Programs. This position will provide a systematic structure of support and guidance for novice teachers in the early stages of their careers.
The Manger of Induction and the Job Embedded Programs will develop, implement, and manage a system of support for recent UTM Educator Preparation Program (EPP) undergraduate completers and graduate students in the job-embedded program. The Manager will recruit and manage clinical mentors to deliver this support. This role includes working closely with the EPP faculty and staff to design a field program that involves best practices, matches state standards, and supports state mandates for education. The Manager of Induction and the Job-Embedded Program will be responsible for communicating with various stakeholders; tracking completers and job-embedded students by developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating support systems and collecting and analyzing evaluation data. The Manager of Induction and the Job-Embedded Program will be responsible for scheduling classroom visits either face-to-face or virtually, establishing effective rapport with teachers and administrators and supervise clinical mentors to provide support, conduct classroom observations on-site or by video, and provide useful feedback to teachers regarding their practice. The Program Manager will provide quarterly reports to the Director of the Education Preparation Program.
The aim of the Induction and Job-Embedded Program is to mentor completers and gather the most recent completer contact information, evaluation data to establish and promote clear lines of communication, develop support systems, and measure teacher success over time. The teacher induction and job-embedded program will help new completers improve practice, learn professional responsibilities, and ultimately positively affect student learning. This program has the potential of elevating the teaching profession and fostering a collaborative learning community for all educators. The Program Manager is responsible for the scheduling and organization of all focus group meetings with program completers and LEA partners throughout the year.
