Job Responsibilities
Hybrid schedule (3 days office/2 days remote)
Provides oversight of the Account Payable function. Manages and trains Accounts Payable staff all accounts payable processes. Automate, eliminate, and improve processes that become out dated or do not provide value. Assists with the day-to-day account payable (AP) processes (i.e. invoice entries and payments, expense report audit, account analysis review, audit requests, time management for AP staff, and ensures the accuracy of the entire payables process.
Essential Functions:
1. Performs line management responsibilities as required for accounts payable staff including professional development, performance appraisals. Assigns project work and reviews workload for all direct reports. Manages staff by establishing goals that will increase knowledge and skill levels, and by delegating tasks commensurate with skill level.
2. Facilitates positive relationships with other departments and participate in cross functional teams as needed.
3. Establishes and oversees all accounts payable operating procedures and processes to ensure accurate, timely, and complete processing of all accounts payable transactions and coding to the general ledger.
4. Identifies best practices and investigates root causes of fundamental issues and problems for projects and recommend solutions.
5. Ensures compliance with process control narratives to meet Sarbanes-Oxley Internal Controls objectives. Alerts management to any discrepancies between written processes and current procedures, so that written procedures can be updated.
6. Identifies opportunities to streamline and improve the accounts payable processing function by promoting process improvement concepts and implementing solutions.
7. Leads special projects to enhance accounts payable technology or to resolve issues raised by other departments.
8. Coordinates requests for data from external auditors.
9. Develops accounts payable reporting to adhere to internal and external reporting requirement.
10. Reviews monthly use tax or similar report.
11. Serves as a back-up for the creation of payments of all types. (Checks, EFTs, ACH, and Wires
