The Opportunity
Allegro MicroSystems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Foundry Process Engineer to serve as the primary technical interface with our foundry partners. This role is critical in ensuring the robust manufacturing quality of our integrated circuits, driving continuous process improvements, and supporting critical failure analysis activities. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in IC manufacturing and wafer process technology, coupled with strong leadership and analytical skills.
What You Will Do
- Act as the main technical point of contact and liaison for our external foundry partners, addressing all production and engineering-related inquiries and issues.
- Lead and coordinate process improvement initiatives with foundries, ensuring the implementation of robust solutions that enhance manufacturing quality and efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain defined monitoring and review plans to ensure the stable and consistent manufacturing quality of all products.
- Support and coordinate comprehensive Failure Analysis (FA) and Return Material Authorization (RMA) activities with both foundries and Allegro's internal Quality team.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal engineering, quality, and operations teams to identify, evaluate, and implement best-in-class manufacturing processes across our global foundry network.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in integrated circuit (IC) manufacturing and development, with a strong emphasis on wafer process and quality engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently, exhibiting exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with experience guiding and motivating cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- In-depth familiarity with various wafer fabrication processes, statistical process control (SPC), common data analysis techniques, and comfort in handling and interpreting large volumes of manufacturing data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences, both internal and external.
