Job Description and Duties

Under direction of the Enterprise Application Services Information Technology Supervisor II, the Information Technology Specialist I functions as project/program and technical lead within a team of programmers and data processing professionals tasked to develop and support systems that provide quality services to the Department of State Hospitals (DSH) information user community. The incumbent will serve as a member of a project team and also works independently performing and directing other programmers and data processing professionals in very complex programming, analysis and design tasks.

The primary duties of the IT Specialist I lie within Business Technology Management, Software Engineering and Systems Engineering domains of the IT Specialist I classification.

This is a Sacramento-based position. Incumbent will have minimal to no travel requirements but may be asked to go onsite to one of DSH’s five locations if needed

  • Atascadero State Hospital - San Luis Obispo County
  • Coalinga State Hospital - Fresno County
  • Metropolitan State Hospital - Los Angeles County
  • Napa State Hospital - Napa County
  • Patton State Hospital - San Bernardino County
