As a Senior Android Engineer, you will play a key role in the Infrastructure team by improving developer experience, building and maintaining internal tools, ensuring CI/CD stability and efficiency and guiding app architecture. You will collaborate directly with backend and data infrastructure teams to build and enhance engineering platforms. As this role is primarily infrastructure-focused, your work will center around internal systems and tooling, rather than UI development or feature delivery within the app.

The impact you will create:

• Collaborate with other developers, data analysts and release managers to design, build and maintain robust infrastructure and tooling that boosts productivity of our Android engineering teams.
• Take full ownership of the Android developer experience, continuously evolving it by building and maintaining internal libraries, Gradle plugins and optimizing our CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop automation solutions that eliminate repetitive manual tasks for developers, freeing them to focus on feature development.
• Identify & execute large tech excellence initiatives to improve code quality & health.
• Set and maintain high engineering standards, ensuring infrastructure consistently meets developer needs.
• Share knowledge & drive the adoption of best practices for Android engineering at Truecaller.

What you bring in:

• 5+ years of experience in Android development.
• Strong passion for enhancing the developer experience, building internal tooling and reducing developer friction.
• Ability to work independently, proactively identify problems and autonomously drive your own work from conception to completion. You are expected to be a self-starter and take initiative.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to diagnose complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Solid understanding of the Android SDK.
• Proficiency in Kotlin, Coroutines, and Dependency Injection.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

It would be great if you also have:

• Experience with build and CI/CD systems, particularly Gradle and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with building Gradle plugins.
• Experience with building internal tools.
• Experience in investigating ANRs and analyzing bug reports. Analytical skills for finding root causes of crashes and other critical issues.
• Experience in debugging and profiling Android applications.
• Experience presenting on technical topics or advocating for best practices within an engineering organization.
