Position Summary

Works with the Value Stream team to design, build, and optimize electro-mechanical assemblies. This work will include making tooling for shutters production, automating manual processes, optimizing the mechanical designs of testing equipment, designing and refining the design of shutters, and optimizing and developing processes for fabrication of shutters. Our shutters components are set apart by their state-of-the-art performance and reliability, which depends upon superb mechanical engineering.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working with a team of engineers to meet project deadlines.
  • Proficient in creating assembly drawings for precision electro-mechanical devices, including GD&T and tolerancing
  • Proficient in creating manufacturing drawings for suppliers both internal and external
  • Independently performing high complexity design assignments from work orders given.
  • Designing and implementing electro-mechanical systems using Solid Works.
  • Supporting the design and overseeing the manufacture of test fixtures and manufacturing tooling for use in shutters manufacturing.
  • Assisting with the writing and review of the following types of documents as needed: progress reports, patents, manuals, white papers, spec documents and proposals.
  • Customer, part sourcing, B.O.M. and vendor management
  • Optimization of optical, mechanical and electronic testing components
  • Troubleshooting, optimizing, and performing design for manufacture for mechanical designs
  • Developing processes and tools for the fabrication of electromechanical assemblies including manual and automated tools
  • Working closely with the Operations manager to prioritize engineering efforts within the value stream

Credentials and Experience

  • B.S. or higher in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or related field or the equivalence in work experience.
  • Five or more years experience in the field of mechanical engineering. Familiar with using design software such as Solidworks.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $83,800.00 - $125,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
