Job Title: Process/Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Process/Manufacturing Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Systems Engineering, or a related field and over three years of proven experience in process engineering within a manufacturing or production environment. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies, as well as experience with CAD software such as Inventor and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and improve manufacturing processes within a metal manufacturing environment, focusing on weldments and large assemblies.
  • Utilize calculations for manufacturing processes, including cycle times, takt times, standard work, and value stream mapping.
  • Program machine requirements for equipment such as brakes, lasers, punches, cobots, robots, welders, sorters, and material handlers.
  • Engage in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize current processes and implement new ones.
  • Participate in capital projects involving the procurement, sourcing, and installation of equipment.
  • Develop and execute strategies for product and process improvements, new product development, and involvement in Government/Military contracts.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a metal manufacturing environment with weldments and large assemblies.
  • Proficiency in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred).
  • Experience with CAD software such as Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Minitab, and continuous improvement tools like DMAIC, 5 Whys, A3 reports, and value stream mapping.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with trailer/vehicle systems and pressure vessels.
  • Familiarity with standards, fixture design, workflow, process flow, robotic welding, and robotics.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly with stainless steel and metal fabrication (MIG/TIG welding, cutting, bending, polishing, etc.).

Work Environment

You will be joining a dynamic engineering team within a brand new, 100,000 sq ft facility equipped with cutting-edge technology and processes. The facility, occupied since January 2025, is designed to seamlessly transition equipment, people, and processes to prevent disruptions in throughput. The team consists of four Manufacturing Engineers, soon to be six, and five Design Engineers, along with one Quality Engineer. The design team is quiet yet friendly, while the Manufacturing Engineering group is outgoing, effectively connecting with both office and shop employees and presenting professionally in meetings. The facility is experiencing growth, increasing production fivefold to accommodate larger orders for fleets, thus boosting revenue and market share. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
