Job Title: Sheet Metal Machine Programmer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Machine Programmer to join our fabrication team. You will be working for a leader in industrial automation and control systems, committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to clients globally across various industries.

This role focuses on creating accurate CNC programs for laser cutting, punching, tube laser, and bending machines using Trumpf TruTops Boost. Candidates should be skilled in reading engineering drawings, selecting proper tooling, and determining optimal bend sequences. A strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and material optimization is essential. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems and a sharp eye for detail. You'll work closely with engineers and operators to troubleshoot issues, improve workflow, and support production efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Trumpf TruTops Boost to calculate bend deductions and create flat patterns for accurate preparation of parts going to punch, lasers, and press brakes.
  • Develop CNC programs for laser cutting, punching, tube laser, and bending machines utilizing Trumpf TruTops Boost.
  • Select proper tooling based on material type and thickness.
  • Determine proper brake tooling and bend sequences.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with team members to optimize productivity.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to CAD/CAM outputs, nesting errors, and machine compatibility.
  • Complete work in an accurate and timely manner with attention to detail.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years experience in sheet metal fabrication.
  • 3+ years of experience with Trumpf TruTops Boost software.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP software for fabrication workflows.
  • Strong work ethic and high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and develop optimal tool paths and setups with high accuracy and maximum material utilization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

The position is primarily an office environment with factory floor time for collaboration meetings. Expected working hours are 40 per week, with scheduling options including 4x10, 5x8, 8-hour shifts, and day shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
