Job Title: CNC Programmer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to create and optimize programs for multi-axis mills and lathes using GibbsCam software. The role involves programming a variety of machines, including 5-axis vertical mills, vertical boring lathes with live tooling, and horizontal lathes with live tooling, which are used to machine very large and heavy control flow parts.

Responsibilities

  • Create and develop programs from engineering drawings.
  • Assist machinists in determining tooling requirements, control settings, machining methods, and routing steps.
  • Research new machining technologies and tooling to improve existing processes.
  • Maintain program database to distribute programs to machine centers.
  • Assist in the design and development of tooling fixtures for improving part production and job flow.
  • Develop manufacturing set-up, work instructions, and work center descriptions for operations in assigned areas.
  • Provide support to the Maintenance Department to develop detailed instructions for all preventative and predictive maintenance tasks for equipment upkeep in assigned areas.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of programming experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a machinist using GibbsCam or MasterCam.
  • Experience programming or machining large/heavy parts.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with machinists and fabricators.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems and Lean manufacturing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with fabricated flow and control valves used in the petroleum and chemical industries.
  • Any technical education or training.

Work Environment

This position requires working in both an office setting and on the shop floor. The standard hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed. A flexible schedule may be required.

This is a Permanent position based out of Houston, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
