Assistant to the City Treasurer - Event Project Manager

CITY TREASURER’S OFFICE

Job Summary: In accordance with the City Treasurer's mission, coordinate and execute economic development workshops for the residents of Chicago under the guidance of the Financial Empowerment and Education team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development, implementation, and administration of outreach-based projects, goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Produces events for the office related to Financial Empowerment and well-being
  • Partners with internal communications while working under tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Coordinates and administers citywide initiatives, departmental programs, and special projects of a complex and technical nature
  • Establishes timelines and implements processes to track and monitor the progress of projects and the accomplishment of key objectives
  • Acts as a liaison with City departments, the public, and business organizations to secure commitments in providing services to program participants
  • Attends outreach events, both in-person and remotely, and represents the CTO at community meetings
  • Serves as host for webinars, as needed
  • Performs related duties as required

Annual Salary: Commensurate with experience $78,672

THIS POSITION IS SHAKMAN EXEMPT

Qualifications

Education and skills needed:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Humanities, or a directly related field, plus three years of work experience in sales, program or project development; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT

All employees of the City of Chicago must be actual residents of the City of Chicago as outlined in Section 2-152-050 of the City of Chicago Municipal Code. Proof of residency will be required.
