We are looking for a/an Applications Engineer to join our CT_MTCS team in United States .

WORKSITE: 900 Threadneedle Street, Suite 700, Houston, Texas, 77079, United States

JOB DUTIES: Develop technical and commercial proposals for Level 3 projects including proposing modifications to the standard design and configure using design and costing tools. Develop process simulations for applications. Manage larger and more complex projects. Evaluate customer inquiries to ensure they contain all information required to submit a quotation. Liaise with sales / customers to obtain missing information. Collect, understand and interpret customer requirements for new and / or operating data from customer’s existing complex columns / units. Assist in the development of technical proposal / quotation for large or complex systems to the customer, including equipment description and specifications. Review and negotiate technical revisions with the customer. Respond to questions and inquiries from the customer regarding technical problems and issues that arise and provide related technical support or assistance. Review and approve the scope of supply in customer order and create job file per Sulzer specifications. Exercise initiative and sound decision-making to understand and provide solutions to large and / or complex problems. Serve as subject-matter expert. Assist in the training and development of new engineers.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of experience as Process Engineer, Applications Engineer, Sales and Applications Engineer, Design and Applications Engineer, Applications and Process Technology Engineer, or Applications and Process Technology Manager. the required five (5) years of experience must have involved, designing, specifying, and selling mass transfer components within a wide variety of applications, including refinery and chemical applications.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Up to 20% domestic travel required.
