Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II

Contract: 6 Months

Compensation: This position is offering a hourly rate range from $66 - $68 an hour.

Job Description:

We're looking for an outstanding mechanical engineer drafter who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person will be responsible for developing 3D and 2D mechanical design and related analysis specifically for flight critical GSE systems. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in mechanical engineering suited for both prototype and production level designs.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• BSc/MSc in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience with CAD modeling and 2D drafting
• Proficiency with NX, TeamCenter
• Experience designing mechanical parts and assemblies
• Experience in DFA, DFM and manufacturing process development, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
• Strong communication and writing skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience with rapid prototype tooling
• Experience with production tooling
• Experience with design and development of hardware at scale (High End Optics and Precision Mechanisms desired)
• Experience with development, test, deployment of military/aerospace systems
• Experience with GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Experience in project management
• Experience with Mechanical stack-up analysis
• Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools
