Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, a related degree, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Experience with Linux or other Unix operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu or RHEL) and shell scripts.
  • Proficiency in more than one discipline related to hardware test, hardware qualification, and manufacturing (e.g., signal integrity, power circuit testing, optical testing, network testing, scripting, and hardware test execution automation using Python).
  • Understanding of Server System architecture, including physical, functional, logical, mechanical, electrical, software, and thermal.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and manage the needs of multiple lab users.

The Platform team is the key to design Google proprietary compute/storage/GPU/TPU machines to fulfill Google Data Center internal use and external Cloud customers. As a Cloud Automation Engineer, you will increase the test efficiency and unify the test framework to onboard different types of hardware

Responsibilities

  • Support various hardware prototype bringup and qualification testing activities by developing Python automation test scripts.
  • Develop and modify the test framework required for managing the test systems at scale to avoid manual configuration and test execution with quality data collection and visualization.
  • Integrate and synchronize the test execution on Device-under-Test (DUT) with external measurement instrumentation.
  • Be responsible for the coding implementation on the Google proprietary test framework for automation testing, which will be widely used in the Lab environment and manufacturing line.
  • Collaborate with all the cross-functional teams to support the design validation. Evaluate the development schedule with the cross-functional teams to evaluate the resources thoroughly.
