CNC Laser Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring precision and efficiency in cutting sheet metal parts. This role involves interpreting technical drawings, loading materials, monitoring operations, performing routine maintenance, and inspecting finished parts for quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal parts.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machine settings and cutting paths.
• Load and unload sheet metal materials onto the machine bed using appropriate lifting equipment.
• Monitor machine operation and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal cutting quality and efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser equipment and work area.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine or material issues and report them to maintenance or supervisors.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Additional duties as assigned by manager.

Essential Skills

• Experience in production, fabrication, and blueprint reading.
• Proficiency in MIG welding, including stainless steel and aluminum welding.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and rulers.
• Knowledge of laser operation and technology.
• Assembly and welding experience.
• Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or technical diploma in Manufacturing Technology, Precision Machining, or a related field preferred.
• Additional coursework or certification in CNC Machining, Laser Technology, or Industrial Safety is a plus.
• Experience with different types of sheet metal (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel).
• OSHA 10 or 30-Hour General Industry Certification.
• CNC Machine Operator Certification.
• Forklift Certification.
• Laser Safety Training Certification.

Work Environment

The role operates on the 1st shift, Monday through Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm. The work environment emphasizes safety and organization, requiring adherence to all safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55120.00 - $55120.00/yr.
