Boston Dynamics is looking for a highly motivated Engineering Manager to join our Field Applications Engineering team to lead a team on the Technology Enablement team, focusing on the development of new engineers and our Temp-to-Hire staffing program. This person will be an expert in our products and be able to execute a vision on what tools or processes are required to accelerate our integration program across our Spot and Stretch product lines. They will work with peers and leadership to act as the driver of multiple aspects of the overall customer experience and technical system acceptance. This leader will be responsible for making technical process level decisions on how to use our products with various customer operations and differing business vertical use cases. This role has multiple growth paths into sales engineering leadership, customer success management, strategic applications engineering, or product management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in multiple engineering disciplines to manage and create career paths for mid-level engineers.
- Lead the technical execution of tools, processes, and input to product management that will drive efficiency in our integration process across product lines.
- Develop and sustain the Temp-to-hire staffing program and strategy for the CSI organization.
- Lead continuous improvement of our technical checklists and integration strategies.
- Partner with product and engineering to drive prioritized technical features that enable more scale for our customers.
- Assist team members in rapidly identifying system roadblocks, isolating the root cause, and moving a solution or process forward to keep our timelines on track.
- Participate in the hand-off of the production-ready system to the GSS team in a controlled transition plan.
- Lead Customer demonstrations, trade show interactions, and pilots.
You Must Have:
- BS in Software, Robotics or Mechatronics Engineering is preferred. MS is not required, but will be weighted against years of experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ direct relative experience working in fast-paced technology integration.
- 1-2 years of experience of direct report management or 4+ years of leading teams or projects through indirect management
- Experience using various operating systems and issue tracking systems (JIRA).
- A positive attitude and passion for career mentoring and supporting your team in bringing our products into production.
- Ability to context switch, digest information, and align with cross-functional organizations, both internal and external, to deliver our products into production on time and on budget.
- Strong Communication skills in both spoken and written form.
- Ability to adapt to project challenges in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.

- Previous project management experience implementing complex interdisciplinary systems.
- Experience with robotic systems or systems engineering to identify the Interface Requirements for each system involved, whether it be Boston Dynamic’s metal, third-party solutions, or customer-enabled solutions.

- Experience with automated material handling, control, and/or warehouse management systems and conveyor solutions.
- Knowledge of testing, manufacturing, and quality control processes.

Travel:
- Willing to travel 50% of the time internationally and domestically.
