Job Title: Assembly Trainee

1st Shift hours- off by 3pm!

17.75/hr, increase to 18.25/hr after 90 days

Job Description

Join our exciting Assembly Training program designed to transform candidates into skilled assemblers over a six-month period. The program offers a comprehensive training experience, including classroom learning, hands-on practice, and shadowing opportunities. All positions are day shift and provide an excellent opportunity for career growth in mechanical assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a variety of general labor tasks within sealing, coating, and other departments.
  • Learn to read blueprints and use specific tools related to assembly work.
  • Engage in week-by-week training modules: Week 1 focuses on classroom learning, Week 2 involves shadowing experienced employees, and Weeks 3 and beyond are dedicated to hands-on practice.
  • Perform assembly of shelters and modifications on existing structures.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete sub-assemblies as needed.
  • Ensure progress is tracked through program checkpoints.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and a strong understanding of math.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
  • Familiarity with assembly, mechanical assembly, and machine operation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with forklift operation, inspection, construction, and welding.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods and perform repetitive motions.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely around hazardous chemicals and conditions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $17.75/hr.
