Job Description

Join our Assembly Training Program designed to cultivate skilled assemblers over a six-month period. This program offers an immersive experience, beginning with classroom training and progressing to hands-on work in various departments. Participants will gain expertise in sealing, coating, and assembly operations, with opportunities to learn blueprint reading and tool usage specific to our work. Day shift schedules are provided throughout the program, ensuring a consistent work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured six-month training program to become a qualified assembler.
• Perform general labor tasks in sealing, coating, and other departments.
• Learn to read and interpret blueprints.
• Utilize hand and power tools for assembly tasks.
• Shadow experienced employees and transition to hands-on work.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to assemble shelters and subassemblies.
• Participate in regular progress checkpoints to ensure skill development.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
• General understanding of math.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical assembly, machine operation, and inspection.
• Familiarity with construction and welding techniques.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

Work in a large, organized facility that is not climate controlled and moderately loud. Shift hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Protective gear including steel toe boots, safety glasses, and long work pants is required. Be prepared to work overtime and in teams, with a typical team size of 4-8 people. The facility spans multiple buildings with a security kiosk at the entrance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $17.75/hr.
