Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform risk assessments at sites across the globe, develop appropriate solutions, create detail design, fabricate and implement machine guarding solutions to improve machine safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify machine guarding opportunities and develop control strategies • Integrate machine guarding systems with existing manufacturing processes • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of machine guarding systems • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing teams
- Quoting of components and scope of work, management of suppliers, selection of proper safety devices for design aspects, create electrical diagrams, planning of materials and timelines for install, placing purchase orders, Supervising the install process and assisting where needed (hands-on configuration and aspects of install), certify the electrical wiring, test and validate (Force failure testing) final solution, and sign-off on project completion. Some smaller jobs may be an opportunity to perform self-install. Some projects may require some PLC or safety relay programming.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years of experience in machine guarding engineering or a related field
- Strong knowledge of machine guarding technologies, control systems and PLC is required. Experience in field work is a plus. TUV certification is a plus.
