How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Working in a team environment, Simulator Support co-ops design and perform hardware and software modifications to Delta's fleet of flight training devices/simulators, ensuring training devices meet FAA requirements, and pilot training needs.

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):

  • Reports to Delta’s manager of simulator engineering.
  • Integrates software modifications into flight training devices/simulators in order to maintain commonality with Delta’s fleet of aircraft.
  • Designs hardware modifications of the training devices per simulator and aircraft manufacturers’ service bulletins.
  • Assist with acceptance testing of new flight training devices/simulators, and with the annual FAA requalification of the devices.
  • Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • Working as a Co-op does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. This position is intended to provide you with educational, and professional work experience to prepare you for the workforce.
  • This position requires you to work for 3 alternating semesters. You cannot actively take any courses (inclusive of online or in-person) and work as a Co-op at the same time, which may delay your graduation by 1-2 semesters.
  • Students must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations in Atlanta, GA in line with the below schedule:
    • Summer 2026 - 1st rotation
    • Spring 2027 - 2nd rotation
    • Fall 2027 - 3rd rotation
  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline.
  • Experience with software editing, code debugging, and revision control using various computer platforms and operating systems.
  • Strong technical, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills, and be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must perform with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
