Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and implement robust, scalable, and innovative IT solutions that align with the company’s strategic goals. The Solution Architect should provide architectural and big-picture oversight for the development of new or enhanced products. The Architect will be responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of the architecture across the system, in accordance with enterprise standards, and providing day-to-day technical guidance to the development teams.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
- Understand and evaluate complex business functions and processes, operational requirements, and procedures. Translate and incorporate the same into comprehensive and coherent plans to support and enhance applications/systems and architectures.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define the system/solution architectures for major areas of development in accordance with policies, standards, and best practices.
- Evaluate build vs buy vs integrate as part of the solution lifecycle, to include cost modeling, vendor management, and product evaluation/selection.
- Participate in and/or lead project teams as a technical resource to deliver solutions across the full development life cycle, ensuring conformance to policy and best-practice standards.
- Coach and mentor other delivery, quality assurance, and support personnel.
- Help maintain the overall architectural roadmap and strategy
- Ensure alignment of architectural solutions with business objectives
- Identify emerging technologies and trends that could benefit the organization
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
- Ensure that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with architectural standards.
- Communicate architectural decisions and strategies to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure the use of industry-standard tools and methodologies in solution architecture
- Ensure solutions comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proven leadership ability with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience working with a variety of constituents within and outside of IT to drive cohesiveness while ensuring that the architectural direction is achieved.
- Should be able to effectively interact with a variety of internal and external constituencies.
- Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and study their relevance for use at Securus, helping build prototypes if needed.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to document and effectively communicate new and modified architecture to a variety of stakeholders.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 12+ years of experience in technology roles including at least 2 years in a Solution Architect role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in Infrastructure engineering and Architecture including:
- System administration (Windows, Linux/UNIX);
- Data center storage solutions (SAN, NAS, etc..).
- Virtualization and container orchestration (VMare/XCP-ng, Kubernetes, etc ...)
- Experience in designing and implementing enterprise infrastructure including servers, VMWare and storage.
- Experience in creating plans for data center infrastructure, server deployment, and decision making about computer hardware and layout, power and cooling requirements, and overseeing of plan implementation.
- Experience developing architectural approaches and solutions for computer, storage and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
- Experience with one or more of the following including a deeper understanding of the languages/eco systems surrounding the language:
- Java, C/C++, JavaScript, C#
- Experience with and very good understanding of one or more of the following:
- Java SE, JEE, .Net, Web Technologies, Web Services, Messaging systems, Relational databases, NoSQL data stores
- Architecture Certifications (TOGAF or similar).
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment. Occasionally, may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
