Avanade’s Legacy Modernization Service Hub (LMSH) prides itself on over 25 years in providing fast and flexible legacy transformations for large customers. Based in our Coevorden office in The Netherlands, we are a team of highly skilled and experienced IT professionals dedicated to Legacy Transformation. We build the technology to automatically convert large enterprise IT systems from old technology to modern technology and bring these IT systems into the Cloud. We encourage hybrid working schedules. With collaborative days but also focus days, either at your home or facilitated at any Avanade or Accenture office.

Are you looking for an interesting job as a technical writer in a challenging IT environment? Do you want to be at the language end of release notes, product manuals and training materials? Do you like building your own tools for this in e.g. PowerShell, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Liquid? Here’s the job for you.

You’ll be working in a team of three technical writers, each with their own responsibilities, but all with the ability to take over the other’s tasks in case of holidays or illness. There is an excellent working atmosphere in the team, with lots of room for personal ideas and input.

Your main responsibility will be to ensure that all written communication is of the highest possible standard. The Avanade AMT product has international customers who must rely on your work for product manuals, release notes, and training materials. Documentation artifacts are published on static websites, for which you will also be responsible.

• Written proficiency in English
• Affinity with the creation of software product manuals, training materials and release notes.
• It would be a plus if you also have experience with Git and automation pipelines, automating the packaging and publishing of documentation artifacts.
• Strong Writing Skills: Ability to write clearly, concisely, and accurately, ensuring that complex technical information is easily understandable.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with software development processes, programming languages, and technical tools. This helps in understanding the subject matter and communicating it effectively.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all documentation is free from errors and inconsistencies, and that it adheres to the required standards and guidelines.
• Research Skills: Ability to gather information from various sources, including technical specifications, product manuals, and interviews with subject matter experts.
• Collaboration: Working closely with developers, engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure the accuracy of the documentation.
• User-Centric Approach: Understanding the needs of the end-users and tailoring the documentation to meet those needs, making it as user-friendly as possible.
• Adaptability: Being able to quickly learn new technologies and tools and adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
• Visual Communication: Creating diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to complement the written content and enhance user understanding.
• Editing and Proofreading: Reviewing and refining documentation to improve clarity, coherence, and overall quality.
