DESCRIPTION
Prime Air is seeking an an experienced and highly skilled manager to oversee the Design and Source Quality team supporting Prime Air's fleet of delivery drones. m. This role oversees the Supplier Quality, Engineering Quality, Software Quality, and Material and Product Compliance efforts for Prime Air. Key job responsibilities
- Lead Hardware/Software Quality and Design Assurance engineering initiatives for certifying highly complex products.
- Develop supplier quality engagement strategies from product development through sustaining operations.
- Strategize and support supplier product qualification best practices
- Facilitate and optimize product design and associated processes through DFMEAs, PFMEAs, Control Plans, FAIs, etc.
- Scale existing supplier process and quality systems to reduce defects with increasing volumes.
- Engage in internal/external Corrective Actions, improvement, and design change opportunities.
- Work with suppliers to solve/prevent technical product and process problems across a broad set of manufacturing commodities.
- Identify supplier-related failure trends and drive investigation, failure analysis, and remediation.
- Participate in strategic sourcing discussions.
- Guide on best practice supplier management activities.
- Drive long range planning for Supplier Quality processes and technologies for operations at scale.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate safe, high quality, cost effective products at scale.
- Implement Prime Air's material and product compliance strategy, roadmap, and specification in the area of hazardous substances, and material safety.
- Actively support and foster a culture of inclusion.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering or other STEM field
- 3+ years management experience
- 5+ years experience with high volume manufacturing of complex products
- 5+ years work experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, and/or Software Quality including:
- Performing internal and/or supplier audits.
- Utilizing quality tools such as 8D, DOE, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC etc.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 / IATF 16949 requirements.
- Auditing design activities and performing process assurance activities
- Experience in product development lifecycle processes in electronic, consumer, or aerospace industry.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent
- Commodity experience related to DC gearmotors, encoders, sensors, wiring harnesses, plastics, cameras, PCBA, electronic components etc.
- Proven track record driving products through the whole product development life cycle.
- Working knowledge of GD&T based on ASME Y14.5.
- ASQ - Certified Supplier Quality Professional, Certified Quality Engineer, or Six Sigma Black Belt.
- Experience leading Lean Manufacturing activities.
- Proficiency in MiniTab
- Expertise in DQA activities in DO-178 Compliance and Auditing
- Expertise in DO-254 and DO-278 Compliance and Auditing
- Demonstrated Experience with (FAA) 14 CFR 21.137 requirements

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $135,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $234,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
