About the Role

Responsible for managing Test Engineering functions in the company and activities to ensure the complete satisfaction of the internal and external clients, the maximum efficiency of the operation and minimizing production costs under the highest safety standards.

The employee has the authority granted by the company through this document to make decisions for the benefit of the company to ensure the conformity of the product, its quality, functionality, the health and safety of the person who intervenes in the process according with quality, safety and environmental systems and customer specific requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Drive and maintain design for Test guidelines into new product designs, ensuring optimized test coverage and cost and identify development activities.
  • Work with external manufacturing partners to define production testing requirements, validation plans for tests systems, and defining their ongoing monitoring and verification activities
  • Drive continuous improvement in the way the test systems are developed and managed and ensure that the personnel using the test facilities receive adequate training and support.
  • Provide technical expertise & support to engineering and production teams.
  • Analyze project/internal requirements and specifications and translates these into test development specifications.
  • Develop test applications based on test specifications and project requirements.
  • Analyze existing test packages to debug issues, add features or make modifications in test applications.
  • Support the standardization of test application platform and test equipment.
  • Able to work with AME test team during NPI test definition and development when required.
  • Responsible to support CFT to reduce false defects on testers, though continuous improvement.
  • Responsible to monitor, and reduce bone pile of diagnostic area, providing information to CFT for FPY and process improvement.
  • Responsible for Plant KPI such us FPY, FPY, Test downtime and PM attainment, and any other resulting from year strategic plan related to this function.
  • Support and participate on activities drive by HPS, such 5’S, KAIZEN, OTHERs.
  • Support Quality system requirements.
  • Generate and manage documentation for electronic control equipment development.
  • Able to detect or perform a methodic troubleshooting to the test equipment.
  • Propose Test equipment improvements.
  • Technical support capabilities to AOI/AXI/ICT/Flying Probe/FCT/PGM/EOL and PCBA troubleshooting.
  • Able to report daily activities to the leader.
  • Equipment installation and Validation protocol.
  • Ensure that the test software meets with the customer requirements.
  • Able to use all digital platform used into Harman system such as SAP, Winchill, Agile.
  • Manage and perform Test equipment Maintenance.
  • Manage Spare Parts inventory, Golden samples and Red rabbits’ sample.
  • Test equipment capacity study.
  • Create Work Instructions.
  • Keep all Test equipment updated and verified.
  • Track and meet Plant & Individual KPI´s
  • Evaluate and proceed to buy new or replace current test equipment.
  • Other activities assigned by Engineering Leader and/or Engineering Manager.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Education: MS in electrical engineering or computer engineering. Would consider a bachelor’s degree with proper experience.
  • Experience: 5 or more years’ experience in electronics testing in high mix products.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Database development and MES integration.
  • Experience on PCBA troubleshooting at component level.
  • X-Ray Machine programming and debug (Nordson & Matrix 3600 preferred).
  • AOI machine programming and debug (KOH YOUNG preferred).
  • Quality Systems and Standards (VDA, UL, ISO 9001-2000, 14000 and AIAG Manuals).
  • Follow and lead 8D's, Core Tools and Six Sigma.
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Computer Knowledge.
  • English 80%
  • Key competencies: Leadership, Collaboration, Change orientation, Judgment, Results driven.
  • Integrity.
  • Knowledge in electronic design for testability requirement.
  • Knowledge in LabVIEW/Test Stand/Process Model test development platform or equivalent platform for test development.
  • Knowledge ISO 9001 ISO 14001, UL, CCC.
  • Knowledge of different electrical manufacturing test strategies.
