As a Manufacturing and Test Engineer you will develop, validate, document, deploy, and support both the hardware and software that comprise production test/calibration fixturing. The Manufacturing and Test Engineer also contributes to planning, organizing, and improving Production Test activities.

Manufacturing and Test Engineers are responsible for:

  • Debugging, designing, implementing and maintaining automated hardware/software test solutions for testing and calibrating of factory-built products, engineering tests, and pre-configuration programs.
  • Creating and maintaining test specifications, schematics, test procedures and other necessary documentation to support the use and maintenance of the test fixtures and software.
  • Providing support for other associates including technical support and troubleshooting
  • Training production associates on test equipment and procedures enabling calibration of custom products
  • Responding to requests for test/calibration documentation
  • Reviewing new product designs for testability.
  • Assists with project planning, including estimating effort and cost, prioritizing/ordering tasks, and negotiating responsibilities.
  • Pull and analyze manufacturing test data to identify test problems and improve first pass yield.
  • Assist in the review of products and processes according to specification and quality standards.
  • Assist with estimates of production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decision.
  • Assist with Management, Engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Prepares process routings to enable the most efficient methods to manufacture product.
  • Reviews ECNs prior to release to determine impact on manufacturing capabilities, processes, and equipment.
  • Attend meetings as assigned and as appropriate to evaluate ECNs, and to discuss and evaluate issues which affect production.
  • Assist in the assembly preparation, test and calibration procedures with input from Engineering, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Experience with common electronic measurement instruments.
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Competency with Windows Operating System, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Experience with CAD and 3D printing is desirable.
  • Experience with National Instruments TestStand is a plus.Knowledge of embedded systems and programming, preferred.
  • Experience using MS Access or other database preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Background in Six Sigma or Lean application.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid Conclusions
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 7 or more years of experience in testing/production support.
