Job Description

The Quality Engineer will be a part of the Manufacturing Quality team, who support the production team in ensuring that in-process material and finished product leaving the WireCo plant meets or exceeds internal and external quality standards. The Quality Engineer reviews and standardizes manufacturing processes through specifications and documentation. The Quality Engineer will follow up on the timely manufacturing of prototypes in quality and quantity; deal with national and international customers; maintain the functionality and effectiveness of the QMS (Quality Management System) documentation control ; immediate attention to the solution of problems arising from customer complaints; attend internal and external audits to the quality system.

Duties & Responsibilities

Compliance & System Management

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Adhere to and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Update QMS documentation as required.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate and track corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) through to closure.
  • Conduct and follow up on Risk and Opportunity Analyses.
  • Support the generation and updating of quality indicators aligned with QMS requirements.
  • Coordinate and validate Control Plans.
  • Perform Measurement System Analyses.
  • Maintain and generate reports for key quality indicators.
  • Coordinate and attend test witnessing with customers and third parties.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with API and ISO 9001 system requirements for quality processes.

Environmental & Waste Management

  • Oversee and manage plant waste in accordance with environmental and internal standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
  • +3 years of experience in quality engineering in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of physical testing and production processes.
  • Control plan management (product characteristics and process characteristics).
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of measurement systems (studies, accuracy, precision, and stability), and equipment calibration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of Windows software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of measurement systems (studies, accuracy, precision, and stability), and equipment calibration.
  • Experience with root cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa).
  • Problem analysis and resolution (using 8D, A3, and QRQC methodologies).
  • Two years of experience in a similar position.
