POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Tooling Manager, PM directly supports the company’s mission to develop and deliver clean power plants that make 100% renewable energy a reality for the world. As the Tooling Manager, you will oversee tooling requirements for construction projects in North America, ensuring compliance with TSA agreements and managing tooling inventory and maintenance, while also collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to meet tooling demands and coordinating tool transportation and maintenance. The role also involves maintaining certifications, periodic maintenance, and inspections of available tooling in North America. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, SAP proficiency, logistics management experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Take ownership of the tooling requirements related to the Turbine Supply Agreements, ensuring project tooling lists are accurately prepared and delivered on schedule.
  • Coordinate assigned resources (internal and contractors) to manage any tooling related activity in the central warehouses.
  • Identify necessary resources for central warehouses to ensure successful tooling management, including tooling returns and proper maintenances and certifications.
  • Collaborate with Logistics department and coordinate necessary tooling shipping.
  • Respond for spare part planning and inventory to support new construction projects.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including the Global Tooling Department and Region management.
  • Support on departmental CAPEX budget creation and management.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing department to identify local vendors for any tooling needs.
  • Review and analyze potential contracts with third parties for tooling.
  • Processes requisitions and ensure success of purchase order process for department necessities, addressing specific stakeholders responsible for purchasing, logistics, and receptions of requested goods and services.
  • Evaluates new tooling needs and coordinate tooling requests based on installation manuals updates, and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Provides tooling cost analysis (current, new and lost tooling)
  • Identify risks and opportunities related to project planning and tooling.
  • Monitoring the schedule of the construction / assembly process.
  • As part of the Projects team, the Tooling Manager has direct communication with all the functions withing the PM community (PMs, Operations, Backoffice, others)

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or tools engineering preferred, combination of education and related experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in comparable positions.
  • Self-starting and ability to complete task with little direction
  • Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency in MS office applications (i.e.: Word, Excel, Power Point, Share Point)
  • Demonstrated successful interaction with internal and external stakeholders (teamwork)
  • Prior experience as a Tooling or Logistics Specialist for different construction or energy contracts, such as multiple large-scale wind projects.
  • Process development and/or technical writing experience
  • Strong ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics to develop procedures, validate work activity and ensure that risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Prefer well rounded technical background and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Working understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and contract implementation.
  • Excellent organizational and proven teamwork skills.
  • Proven track of resourcefulness and ingenuity in resolving project-based challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan several projects at once, prioritize work, meet deadlines, prepare reports, and generate best practice guidelines
  • Fluency in English is mandatory. French, Spanish and German is a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability/experience working in constantly changing environment
  • Ability to travel domestic and international locations to project sites and on business as required (20% travel) and ability to obtain a passport.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
