What success looks like in this role:

  • Provides Software Applications Engineering support for larger and more complex applications / project areas.
  • Performs build and deployment for application development efforts.
  • Designs basic requirements that are effective, timely and comply with project standards.
  • Configures, programs and tests applications / technical architecture components.
  • Fixes defects and performance related problems.
  • Accountable for service commitments at individual request level for in scope development work.
  • Reviews design, coding, and unit testing to ensure compliance with the standard defined for the project.
  • Works with the BA team to understand requirements and use cases.
  • Develop sizing for assigned use cases with inputs from the BA team.
  • Deploys QAT or UAT environments independently.
  • Works closely with the testing team to understand existing and newly generated issues (regression) and works towards providing solutions.
  • Explores alternative solutions by selecting the best option, through applying DAR techniques.
  • Participates in code reviews, works with other developers, designers, and architects to ensure requirements are met.
  • Ensures the integrity of pre-production environments, such as development, test, QA and staging environments.
  • Leads efforts in specific process improvement and technical automation areas.
  • Provides regular status updates for self / team to project lead / manager.
  • Helps less experienced team members in completion of upskilling training / tasks.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are hiring an experienced Oracle HRMS & Payroll Techical Consultant with strong expertise in UK Payroll, Oracle HRMS, Self-Service HR (SSHR), Oracle Time and Labor (OTL), WebADI, and Oracle Application Framework (OAF). The ideal candidate must have excellent PL/SQL skills, with a minimum of 6 years' experience in supporting and enhancing Oracle E-Business Suite applications, particularly in HR and Payroll domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-depth functional and technical support for Oracle HRMS, UK Payroll, SSHR, OTL, and related modules.
  • Handle UK Payroll processing, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, including PAYE, NI, pensions, RTI submissions, and year-end activities (P60/P45).
  • Perform element configuration, fast formula development, retro-pay setup, and statutory balance adjustments.
  • Develop, deploy, and troubleshoot WebADI templates for bulk data uploads (e.g., employee details, assignments, payroll elements).
  • Work on OAF customizations and personalizations to meet specific business requirements, including UI extensions.
  • Leverage strong PL/SQL expertise to write, debug, and optimize queries, procedures, and APIs supporting payroll and HR processes.
  • Manage and enhance timecard setups, OTL approval workflows, and business rules.
  • Support patching, cloning, and environment refreshes, including SIT, UAT, and production cutovers.
  • Coordinate with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to gather requirements, provide solutions, and implement changes.
  • Maintain documentation, solution records, and user guides for internal teams and audits.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience with Oracle EBS (R12) in HRMS, UK Payroll, SSHR, and OTL.
  • Must have strong hands-on experience in PL/SQL development, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Deep functional understanding of UK Payroll processes and legislative compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with WebADI development and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Application Framework (OAF) for customizations and enhancements.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Workflow Builder, AME, and user/role management.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
