Your Impact

In this role, you will stand at the forefront of the most significant decisions our private markets clients face. You will focus on:

GenAI Pre-DD insights (DD Concierge): Conducting research and develop investment theses on assets coming to market using Private Capital (PC) solutions, GenAI tools, and our proprietary Investor Toolkit. This includes building outside-in perspectives by analyzing industry trends, competitive landscapes, and company positioning, drawing from leading methodologies developed by the DD concierge team

Top of the House/Research insights: Supporting Client servicing team (CSTs) on research on top of the house, deal-relevant topics such as fundraising patterns, vintage performance, and target scans. You'll collaborate closely with client service teams, contribute to live deal execution, and shape firm-wide knowledge by applying innovative approaches and staying ahead of market trends through integration with the solution team

Develop and maintain firm assets: Work with leadership to shape the landscape of digital assets and tools across sectors, and you will help to leverage these assets to deliver client proposals and ongoing projects.

Codify and scale knowledge: Transform insights into reusable, structured materials to support consulting teams and expand the practice’s intellectual capital.

In addition to your day-to-day activities with client teams, you will work with practice leaders to identify and support the development of tools and applications for internal and client-related topics. You will also build, maintain, and manage the practice knowledge assets in digital formats.

You will be based in our San Jose office in Costa Rica as a part of the McKinsey Private Capital Client Capabilities Network (CCN) team. McKinsey’s Private Capital practice helps private equity firms make better investment decisions at every stage of the deal life cycle and build greater returns through active management of portfolio companies.

You will work closely with practice leadership and our digital solutions teams to develop and deliver insights for our private market clients, using specialized approaches and supporting our client service teams.

In addition to your day-to-day activities with the client service teams, you will be a part of a dynamic and professional community of colleagues that works together to learn, develop, and share best practices. This role will have a mix of a hybrid/in office working model and has the opportunity for some travel.

Your qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business, finance, economics or a related field is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and knowledge about databases such as Pitchbook, Preqin, Capital IQ is preferred
  • Basic knowledge and awareness of different GenAI platforms
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, combined with strong conceptual skills and creativity
  • Knowledge or strong interest in investing, private equity or alternative markets
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively - both verbally and in writing
