BlueHalo is seeking a mid-level mechanical engineer to provide end-to-end mechanical engineering support to diverse R&D programs and small-volume production contracts. The candidate would be expected to lead the design, analysis, integration, and test activities of mechanical hardware and subsystems, through the engineering and development phase in preparation for full system production and testing. The candidate may oversee one or more multi-disciplined engineers and/or technicians depending on mechanical subsystem or program assigned. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong creative and critical thinking skills; the desire to be a lead mechanical engineer on projects as well as contributing to technical documentation writing and interacting with multiple customers and vendors on a consistent basis. The candidate must have demonstrated experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment. The ideal candidate would be able to quickly adapt to various types of work, and would quickly learn new skills, analysis methods, etc. while supporting a diverse range of programs. The candidate must be able to multi-task, while supporting technology development programs, along with the rigorous processes & procedures associated with building production hardware.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, and approximately 3 years' experience.
• Experience with, mechanical engineering, and design, including structural, assembly, integration, and test of mechanical hardware.
• Experience with CAD software including mechanical design and drawings.
• Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) software.
• Experience with finite element & thermal analysis software and methods.
• Experience with tolerance analysis and GD&T practices.
• Experience and willingness to be hands on during hardware assembly, integration, and test.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• 5, or more, years engineering experience.
• Experience with space qualified hardware design and integration.
• Highly Proficient in Solidworks
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Ability to quickly adapt to various projects and types of work and to work several projects simultaneously while managing time and priorities.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a small team.
• Demonstrated communication skills (technical writing, presentation, customer, and vendor interaction, etc.).
• Active DoD Security Clearance

Salary Range: $96K to $136K
