Overview
The Electro-Mechanical engineer position at Crestron plays a key role in the design and development of production test systems used in our electronics manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible of performing specifications and detailed design of mechanical systems and materials, designing test fixtures, selecting, procuring vendors and materials, supervising the assembly of mechanical systems, implementing automation, writing procedures, and deployment/sustaining support. The ability to analyze mechanical products and determine appropriate test strategies to verify hardware functionality is essential. Strong understanding of electro-mechanical engineering principles is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Development of robust production test fixtures for Crestron’s product lines (DM, Audio, Lighting, or others)
- Communicate all aspects of design and development to test management and engineering staff
- Develop mechanical plans, mechanical procedures, mechanical specifications, test fixtures and test jigs in support of assigned projects (typically Final Functional Test development).
- Identify and evaluate mechanical test fixturing methodologies and equipment required to perform required production test
- Ability to identify conventional mechanical test steps that may include a variety of implementations on ICT, FVT to System level test
- Explore new avenues and test technologies for mechanical improvements on production testing assignments
- Investigate product testing opportunities for using a collaborative robot
- Perform analyses on design quality of products assigned, identify trends and spearhead corrective actions
- Ability to deploy and provide training to team members and production personnel for delivered test systems
- Work with design engineering to develop a test approach and strategy for a product and/or suite of products
- Work closely with design engineering to test and debug product features during new product introduction
- Use DFT principles to develop sound test strategies for production test at both board and system levels
- Support production NPI during the initial launch phase and ensure acceptable test repeatability and product yields.
- Be a point of escalation for technical issues that occur in production
- Assist with mentoring and development of junior test members in the department
- Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the manager.
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Technology or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering required.
- 2 - 4 years’ experience as an Engineer in a technical or engineering development role.
- Proven problem resolution and technical decision-making skill
- Working knowledge of Creo CAD Software or Solid Works is necessary.
- Working knowledge of 3D Printing desirable
- Proven skills in solving mechanical problems
- General knowledge of PCB assemblies, quality concerns and PCB test
- Understanding of pneumatic systems, sensors, and controls
- Understanding of materials, fabrication techniques and assembly for fixtures
- Excellent written and oral communication
- The ability to work in a highly dynamic collaborative team environment
- Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Per applicable state requirements, the annual pay range for this position ($75,000 - $121,000) which consists of base salary (subject to performance), reflects the hiring range for candidates. Also note, an individual’s offer may vary from this range as it may be impacted by additional factors, including but not limited to the candidate's hiring location, qualifications, experience, and market factors.
