As a Mechanical Engineer, you will oversee the design and coordination of mechanical systems across multiple projects. You will serve as a client-facing engineer, collaborating closely with project managers and stakeholders to develop detailed construction documents, including drawings and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, controls, and specialty piping systems. You will conduct construction administration tasks such as reviewing submittals and managing design revisions during construction. Additionally, you will perform system calculations, equipment selection, and layout development from schematic design through construction documents. Your role will require you to research and apply relevant building codes and standards to ensure compliance, while coordinating effectively with other engineering disciplines, architects, and contractors to deliver integrated and successful project outcomes.
The work environment is predominantly office-based, with 95% of the time spent in the office and occasional travel to local projects in Central IL. Engineers work collaboratively in a pit setting within a team of 15-20 employees. The team includes tenured staff with over 30 years of experience. The standard workday is from 8 AM to 5 PM with a 1-hour lunch break.
The pay range for this position is $33.66 - $40.87/hr.
